Skin boosters and polynucleotides: what is the difference?
Hydration and repair are separate jobs. A skin booster treatment is performed to achieve hydrated skin. But it is not effective in rebuilding the skin's structure. To achieve that, you need to undergo Rejuran, which is a polynucleotide treatment. It works by encouraging the formation of elastin and collagen in the skin.

Mesotherapy is a related hydration treatment, not a skin booster in the strict sense. It uses very fine needles to deliver therapeutic ingredients into the middle layer of the skin.
What to expect at your appointment
ConsultationBefore starting your skin boosters in Sydney treatment, your practitioner assesses your skin condition, discusses your concerns and recommends a suitable treatment plan.
NumbingThey apply a topical numbing cream before the treatment starts.
TreatmentSkin booster doses are applied through a series of small injections. Mild discomfort or a prickling sensation can be felt, which is normal. The treatment may take from 45 to 60 minutes.
AfterwardsMild redness or swelling at the injection points is normal, and it will settle within 1-2 days. If any small raised bumps occur, they will resolve within 2-3 days.
Treatment course and results
For Rejuran & Skin Boosters, Cosmetic Wellness recommends three sessions with a gap of four weeks. Clients need to attend follow-up sessions every 6-12 months. The treatment and follow-up sessions are different for facial mesotherapy. Initially, it requires 4-6 sessions with a gap of 2-3 weeks.
Suitability and safety
The clinic's skin booster treatment includes Rejuran, which is derived from salmon DNA, so it is generally not recommended for people with a fish or seafood allergy.
Treatment is also not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or where there is an active skin infection.
For mesotherapy, a lot of precautions are required. Clients with heart disease, autoimmune disorders, uncontrolled diabetes, blood clotting disorders and anticoagulant medication may not opt for it.
